Lucy Busija
Background
Lucy is a PhD student at the Department of Medicine, The University of Melbourne. The topic of her PhD research is the Personal and societal impact of osteoarthritis in Australia. She has qualifications in Psychology (BA Hons, Swinburne UT) and Applied Statistics (MSci, Swinburne UT). Previous appointments include Research Assistant at the Health Statistics Research Unit at Swinburne University of Technology and Research Officer at the Centre for Rheumatic Diseases, Department of Medicine, The University of Melbourne with research chiefly in the chronic disease epidemiology and psychological health in chronic illness. The recent projects include evaluation of the efficacy of self-management program in arthritis and assessment of socio-economic disparities in provision of total joint replacement in Australia.
